Dave's Big Day

November 29, 2009

Dave will be installed as Master of the Sandy Lodge.
We know this is Thanksgiving weekend but it was the only
time the installing team could come and do this.
He will be installed by the Grand Master Art Bush, himself.

We are excited for the insuing year.

COUSIN'S CAMPOUT 2010
(no longer float)

I met with Uncle Dennis tonight and we are making plans for the beginning of
August, tenatively Aug 6-8.

The cousin's in Seattle really want to come and we are thinking
something halfway for all.

How does Devil's Lake in Lincoln City sound?

There is a casino, outlet shopping, hotels, motels, the beach,
a campground, kayaking. It has it all. I just need to look into
availability.

I will need feedback from everyone about what would be the best time to go.

We will be going back to Lake Selmac, Mallard Loop for camping.
They do offer Yurts and Cabins (brand new this year).

I will be going down on Thursday night to set up.
Friday I thought we would do a jet boat trip in the evening.
Saturday we can spend at the Green bridge or Miami Beach.

Can't wait to see who will be coming this year.

Let's make Paula proud!

The beach where the kids swam and I kayaked.

Gabby

On Friday night Grace and I went to Jeopardy, a Ranger program.
What fun we had. We had two teams. We met a couple from Virginia.
The categories were Tweet Tweet, Crazy Critters, The Reservoir,
Prineville, and Park Plants. Our team was ahead at Final Jeopardy but we lost on the
last question. It was: 150 years what tribe was the last to go peacefully to the reservation? 1. Blackfoot 2. Paiute 3. Nez Perce
The answer was number two. We said number 3. Oh well.

Saturday, at 5pm Grace went to the scavenger hunt with the Rangers.
She got to be partners with a boy her age, Blaine. What a nice boy.
They had to find: a feather, something soft, something from nature, favorite thing
from the desert, garbage, surprise by the entry booth, and much more.

Self Portraits

Saturday night the two girls and I went to the Ranger program called "Tye Dye Plants"
The ranger brought things from nature to dye with. Sagebrush was green, Rabbitbrush
was yellow, and Ochoco Mtn Blueberries were purple. They provided the tshirts for us.
The shirts turned out awesome and the sagebrush one smelled so good.

Crazy Girl

This was our first trip with the trailer where we had power, water, sewer, and flush
toliets, and free showers. They also sold wood and ice. How nice. It is such a nice park.

Our campsite "C11"

On Friday I had Dave take me to town, I had forgot to pack any yogurt. On the way
there we hit two garage sales. We found 3 almost brand new sleeping bags for $20.

Looking towards the lake from our site, deer went thru here every evening.

Fixing the lights

This morning Grace got up and said this "Mom that was the best camping trip
we have been on in a long time." That made me feel really good.

Timothy Lake
Sept 11-13, 2009

Friday we decided that we would go camping for the weekend.
We packed up the van+trailer and headed out late. Got into camp in the
dark and set up.
Publish Post

We awoke the next day to find we had a glorious campsite.
We were just cross the road from the lake and next to the
bathroom.

Pictures from our walk.
