Georgia
Peaches Sunny-Side Up
10 ounces vanilla yogurt
2 tbsp sugar
2 graham crackers, halved
1 small can of peach halves
1/2 tsp cinnamon

1. Mix yogurt and sugar together in a small bowl.
2. Place half a graham cracker on the center of a plate. Spoon yogurt mixture on top of cracker and the plate so that it covers the cracker completely.
3. Put a peach half, rounded part facing up, in the middle of the yogurt. Sprinkle a little cinnamon over it.

improve the health of Americans by getting them to cook with more nutritious foods.

Delish Deli Duo
2- 3 oz packages of cream cheese
1/4 vanilla yogurt
1 1/2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp raspberry preserves
6 bagels, presliced

1. Combine cream cheese, yogurt, and sugar in a food processor or hand mixer
2. Alternately spoon cream cheese mixture and raspberry preserves into a small serving bowl. Gently stir in a circular motion to form swirls without mixing the two together.
3. Spread on top of sliced bagels.

Nutty Maple Brittle
1 cup maple syrup
1 tbsp butter or margarine
Candy thermometer
1 cup sliced almonds, peanuts, or walnuts

1. Combine maple syrup and butter together in a saucepan and heat on low heat. Insert the candy thermometer into the syrup mixture until it reaches 200 degrees,
2. Stir in nuts. Keep nuts submerged so they cook thoroughly. Keep stirring so the candy does not burn. Cook to 295 degrees on thermometer.
3. Spread he mixture in a 1/4 layer onto nonstick cookie sheet.
4. Chill in the refrigerator until firm
5. Break into pieces and enjoy.

Cheesy Spuds
4 medium baking potatoes, washed
1/4 pound cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 cup plain yogurt
2 tsp green onions, chopped
2 tbsp butter

1. Prick each potatoes with fork several times
2. Fold a white paper towel in the microwave oven. Put potatoes on the paper towel in a circle.
3. Microwave potatoes for 15 minutes. Wen you pinch them they should still be a little firm. Set them aside for about 10 minutes.
4. While you are cooking the potatoes, mix remaining ingredients together.
5. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop out the potatoes. Mix the potatoes into the cheese mixture and spoon the new mixture back into the skins.
6. Microwave again for 2 minutes.

Crunchy Sunflower Cereal
2 cups quick oats
2 cups sunflower seeds
1/2 Cashews
1/2 Almonds
1/2 Shredded Coconut
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup Honey
1/4 cup molasses

1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees
2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Use hands and mix well.
3. Spread onto a shallow baking pan
4. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from over, stir mixture, then bake again
for 10 minutes more. Store in tightly sealed containers.

North Dakota



Little Mac and Big Cheese

2 cups shell or elbow macaroni

1 1/2 quarts salted water

2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

3 eggs, beaten with 2 tbsp milk

salt and pepper to taste

1/3 cup bread crumbs


1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees

2. Bring water to boil, then add macaroni.

Boil, uncovered for 10-12 minutes, drain

3. Pour macaroni into medium sized bowl.

Add cheese, egg mixture, and salt/pepper. Mix well.

4. Pour mixture into a greased casserole dish. Cover with foil

5. Bake for 20 minute or until eggs are firm

6. With pot holders, take dish from oven, uncover

7. Sprinkle top with bread crumbs. Return to oven. Broil, uncovered until

crust if formed.


Juicy Baked Apple Treat


4 red baking apples, washed

15-20 raisins

10 almonds

1 tbsp cinnamon

1/2 cup hot water


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Core apples without cutting out the bottom of the apple.

3. Slit skin around the middle of each apple to prevent bursting

4. Stuff each apple with 4-5 raisins, a couple of almonds, and sprinkle of cinnamon

5. Put apples in a baking dish. Fill each apple with water and pour the leftover water

into the baking dish

6. Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are soft inside.

7. When the apples have cooled, put them in a small bowl and eat.
