The four Pevensie children return to Narnia, only to discover that hundreds of years have passed since they ruled there, and the evil King Miraz has taken charge. With the help of a heroic mouse called Reepicheep, and the exiled heir to the throne, Prince Caspian, they set out to overthrow the King, once again with Aslan's help.

Dave and I, only having Grace at home, decided to go to the movies (we have not done that in many years). We all have wanted to see this movie and I really liked it, more so than the first.

It is worth seeing in the big screen.

Moments when you say "OH %&^$"

We took a car ride down to see Mom and Dad for Mother's Day.

On the way home we stopped at the Fort Hoskins Park. I had never been there and wanted to see it. Very nice. It has lots of hiking and trails. I told the girls we will have to take a picnic lunch and go this summer.

You can rent this structure. It was brand new.

What a gorgeous view of the valley. A broken arm and wanting to climb. That's my girl.


Some facts about Fort Hoskins:

The post was begun in 1856 on the Luckiamute River under the supervision of then Captain Christopher C. Augur.[1] Fort Hoskins was finished in 1857 with then lieutenant Philip Sheridan in charge, and was named after Lt. Charles Hoskins who had died in the U.S.-Mexican War.[1] The fort was located about 19 miles northwest of Corvallis. The unincorporated area of Hoskins took its name from the fort.
Fort Hoskins was garrisoned by a number of companies of soldiers throughout its short existence. Two soldiers who were stationed at the fort during the American Civil War kept journals of their experiences: Royal A. Bensell and William M. Hilleary. Their accounts are of unmitigated boredom and dampness, but they provide a good picture of 19th-century life in the area.
Fort Hoskins played an indirectly important role in local and state history due to the leadership of several out-of-state soldiers who decided to stay in the area after they were mustered out of the army. Several placenames in the area, such as Kings Valley, are connected with these soldiers. The fort never saw any action, though a bloodless insurrection by the natives at Yaquina Bay was put down by the soldiers, and was abandoned in 1865

Back in September of 2005, on the first day of School,
Martha Cothren, a social studies school Teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock, did Something not to be forgotten.

On the first day of school, with the permission of The school superintendent, the principal and the Building supervisor, she removed all of the desks Out of her classroom.
When the first period kids Entered the room they discovered that there were no Desks. Looking around, confused, they asked, 'Ms. Cothren, where're our desks?' She replied, 'You can't have a desk until you tell Me what you have done to earn the right to sit at a Desk.'

They thought, 'Well, maybe it's our grades.' 'No,' she said.

Maybe it's our behavior.' She told them, 'No, it's Not even your behavior.

And so, they came and went, the first period, second Period, third period. Still no desks in the Classroom.

By early afternoon television news crews had started Gathering in Ms. Cothren's classroom to report about This crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out Of her room. The final period of the day came and as the puzzled Students found seats on the floor of the deskless Classroom.

Martha Cothren said, 'Throughout the day no one has Been able to tell me just what he/she has done to Earn the right to sit at the desks that are Ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going To tell you.'

At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door Of her classroom and opened it. Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniforms, Walked into that classroom, each one carrying a School desk. The Vets began placing the school desks In rows, and then they would walk over and stand Alongside the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk In place those kids started to understand, perhaps For the first time in their lives, just how the Right to sit at those desks had been earned. Martha said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at These desks. These heroes did it for you. They Placed the desks here for you.

Now, it's up to you To sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, To be good students, to be good citizens. They paid The price so that you could have the freedom to get An education. Don't ever forget it.' By the way, this is a true story.

And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.
Where were you when he was 2 ? ?
Where were you when he was 12 ? ?
Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol ? ?
And where is the father ? ? Or who is his father ?

People putting their clothes on backward: Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?
People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something ?
Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up ?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from??
We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa .
With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.

We have millionaire football players who cannot read.
